Though surgical procedures like the Brazilian butt lift create beautiful and long-lasting results, surgery isn’t the right choice for everyone. For patients looking to enhance their buttocks, we give them the option of choosing Sculptra® instead. Sculptra® is the only completely non-surgical bum lift procedure currently in use, and it relies on safe, proven compounds to lift and augment the buttocks gently. This treatment is ideal for patients who prefer subtle results or wish to avoid the lengthy recovery time associated with surgical buttock augmentation.

Sculptra® is an injectable treatment system that uses poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) to improve the shape and volume of the buttocks. PLLA has a long history of use in medicine; this biocompatible, biodegradable organic compound is found in self-dissolving sutures, soft tissue implants, and other medical devices. Sculptra® is also used as a facial filler. It was first approved for use with HIV patients who suffered from facial fat loss or lipoatrophy.

Sculptra® is an excellent way to combat age-related changes in the gluteal region, such as flat or sagging buttocks. This treatment also reduces cellulite and stretch marks while making the buttocks shapelier.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is used for buttock injections?

Sculptra® is an injectable treatment system that uses poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) to improve the shape and volume of the buttocks. After Sculptra® is injected into the buttocks, new collagen strengthens, heals, and rebuilds skin and connective tissues. Collagen also stores a significant amount of water (each collagen molecule can hold 1000 times its weight in water), a process that subtly increases the volume of the buttocks.

  • Who is a good candidate for Sculptra®

Healthy adults of all ages can potentially benefit from Sculptra®. You should avoid this treatment if you are currently pregnant, planning to become pregnant soon, or breastfeeding. It’s also important to maintain realistic expectations for this procedure. While Sculptra® greatly improves the shape and tone of the buttocks, it does not create the same level of volume enhancement as a surgical butt lift.

  • How much does Sculptra® treatment cost?

    Pricing begins at $3,000.

  • How long does Sculptra® last?

PLLA fillers last much longer than hyaluronic acid fillers. One series of Sculptra® injections can last for up to three years. To maintain consistent results, we recommend having “top up” injections once per year. This will prevent any noticeable decrease in volume over time.

Aftercare and Recovery

It’s common for the buttocks to be slightly swollen and tender for 24 to 48 hours after treatment, and this can make sitting for prolonged periods uncomfortable. If you have a sedentary job, you may want to take a few days off work while you recover.

To improve comfort and expedite healing, our doctors may recommend wearing a compression garment and using a cool compress after each injection session. You should also gently massage the treated area with moisturizer for five minutes, five times per day, for up to five days after you have the injections. This will ensure an even distribution of PLLA.
