Nipple Reshaping

Nipple reshaping or reconstruction refers to breast procedures that address the size and shape of nipples. A nipple tuck is used to correct nipples that are constantly erect or have drooped as a result of weight loss, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Protruding nipples can sometimes be bothersome due to their visibility through clothing or are physically uncomfortable and produce emotional distress, especially when it only affects one breast. Large areolas (darker skin surrounding the nipples) can either be genetically inherited or may result from a stretching of the tissue.
Nipple/areola reduction is often performed in conjunction with other breast reshaping procedures such as breast lift or breast augmentation. If the breast tissue and nipple are in a good position, a simple areola reduction can be performed alone. Nipple reshaping surgery is performed under a local anesthetic in our fully-accredited Oakville clinic and takes approximately one hour to perform. However, when performed in combination with another breast surgical procedure, it is done under a general anesthetic.
