What is Nuceiva™?
Despite being a fairly new addition to the cosmetic world, Nuceiva™ has already earned a reputation as a highly sought-after non-surgical treatment. When performed by a skilled provider, Nuceiva™ can significantly reduce the appearance of moderate to severe* frown lines.
The injectable, which has been approved by Health Canada and the FDA, is primarily composed of botulinum toxin type A, the same active ingredient found in BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport®. This substance has proven effective in reducing the severity of dynamic wrinkles, or wrinkles caused by repetitive facial movements (e.g. smiling, frowning or squinting). The treatment is recommended for adults between 18 and 65 years of age.*
How is Nuceiva™ Performed?
As is the case with other injectables offered at our practice, Nuceiva™ is administered in a minimally invasive procedure. The injections are made using a sterile needle. In most cases, the process is very brief, and no downtime or extensive recovery is required. Effects should last between three and four months, and many patients choose to undergo multiple treatment sessions to maintain results.
