Let’s dig in.
What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is a non-surgical procedure that utilizes focused ultrasound technology for treatment. Regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and approved by Health Canada, Ultherapy offers a non-invasive, no-downtime treatment to reverse the effects of gravity on the face and neck. This means you can return to your regular activities almost immediately. While its primary purpose is skin tightening, Ultherapy also enhances skin texture. How Ultherapy Works
Ultherapy® uses microfocused ultrasound to generate a thermal effect under the skin. This effect essentially jump-starts your body’s own process to create fresh, new collagen. The end results? Skin tightening. What’s truly remarkable is that this method provides gradual, natural-looking results that develop over time, steering clear of an overly “pulled” or artificial appearance. Even more impressive, Ultherapy can be personalized to address your specific concerns, whether they involve skin texture or sagging. Unlike some other treatments like laser therapy, Ultherapy is safe for individuals with any Fitzpatrick skin type. So, what exactly can Ultherapy achieve, and which areas can it treat? What Does Ultherapy Do?
Ultherapy helps to treat the following:- Signs of aging, such as thinning skin, wrinkles and fine lines
- Loose skin on the face and neck
- Scarring from acne or injuries
How Long Will Ultherapy Results Last?
Typically, the results appear over the first 2 to 3 months after the Ultherapy® treatment. These results then last for up to 2 years, as your body’s collagen production takes full effect. There are also other factors, such as age, depth of treatment and adherence to post-treatment instructions, that directly influence how quickly you see results. What To Do After Ultherapy
Following your treatment, you might notice an immediate tightening of the treated skin area. But alongside, there might also be redness, swelling, or tingling sensation – all of which are entirely normal and should subside shortly. Here are some additional points to keep in mind during the post-treatment phase:- It’s important to steer clear of direct sun exposure. If avoiding the sun isn’t possible, we recommend using sunscreen with SPF 30 or SPF 50 to protect your skin.
- If you’re taking any medications, discuss them during your consultation.
- Follow the prescribed guidelines regarding specific skincare products for the time being.
