Scars affect many individuals and can occur after injury, surgery or anytime the skin is compromised. Some scars can be categorized as keloid scars and are thick, raised and “rope–like” in appearance.
Depending on the type and severity of the scar, surgical scar revision may be required when injection and laser are not enough. This procedure is typically performed by Dr. Julie Khanna under local anaesthetic in order to reduce and improve the look of the scar. It may be necessary to proceed with PDL, ExcelV/Genesis and/or topical silicone gel therapy (Dermatix Si gel) to further enhance the results and reduce inflammation and redness.
