What is E2 Ematrix™ Resurfacing?
Many patients struggle with the appearance of uneven skin texture, tone, loose skin and/or acne scarring. E2 – Ematrix™ is a great option for patients wishing to dramatically improve the overall texture and tone of their skin without the associated downtime that can be caused by more ablative technologies.
Why is it different?
E2 – Ematrix&trackback( treatment represents a new science and category of cosmetic skin surgery that offers patients the positive results of traditional ablative resurfacing such as CO2 with the low-impact and low-downtime benefits of non–ablative therapies. In addition, E2 – Ematrix™ is unlike any other type of fractional resurfacing as it uses RF technology (radio frequency) to lift and tighten the skin at the same time.
Is it right for me?
E2 – Ematrix™ is a form of fractional resurfacing which gradually and over time, stimulates the replacement of aged and photo–damaged skin. It is used for fine lines, traumatic scars, acne scarring, rough skin texture, skin laxity and hyperpigmentation. It is based on the principle of microthermal treatment zones, while cause damage, and ultimately stimulation to some areas, while leaving other areas of tissue completely intact, which is what allows the downtime to be so minimal. E2 – Ematrix™ is also specifically suited for improving the look of stretch marks.
What should I expect?
The hand piece pulse creates tiny ablative zones, triggering the body’s natural healing process, therefore stimulating the growth of new, healthy skin tissue. The benefit of fractional based therapies is being able to achieve similar results to overall resurfacing (removing full upper layers of skin), but with much less downtime. E2 – Ematrix™ can also be performed using different levels of treatment, which allows us to tailor the depth and associated downtime (associated redness, irritation, swelling.) Lastly, patients with darker skin tones can be safely treated using this type of technology.
The technology will pass over either the full face or just specific areas on the face or body (scars or stretch marks). You will then be sent home with ice packs to aid in the healing process and to minimize any swelling or redness. Appointments are normally booked 4 weeks apart with patients often requiring 3–4 treatments.
