BOTOX® Cosmetic can provide a conservative approach to wrinkle reduction. This world-famous cosmetic injectable can soften lines, reduce deep wrinkles and comprehensively enhance the facial aesthetic. When the treatment is performed by an experienced injector, BOTOX® Cosmetic can produce subtle-yet-noticeable results that bring out a patient’s natural beauty.

Our specialized cosmetic nurse injectors treat expression lines and dynamic wrinkles with BOTOX® Cosmetic. This is a quick procedure with little to no recovery time or discomfort. This treatment is an excellent option for anyone who wants to achieve a fresh, natural appearance.

What Is BOTOX® Cosmetic?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is an injectable medication containing botulinum toxin. BOTOX® Cosmetic works by weakening the signal that is passed between the brain and the muscle, relaxing overly strong facial expressions that cause dynamic wrinkles. As the pull of the muscle relaxes, the overlying skin ultimately appears smoother; the result is a brighter, more awake and more youthful-looking facial aesthetic.

In addition to its ability to address dynamic wrinkles, BOTOX® Cosmetic can be employed to reduce oil and sebum production in the skin, which may benefit those who suffer from acne. While the treatment is primarily used for cosmetic purposes, BOTOX® can also treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating of the underarms, hands and feet) and certain medical concerns, such as TMJ and migraines.

Who Is a Candidate for BOTOX® Cosmetic?

Candidates for BOTOX® Cosmetic often want to reduce and prevent the appearance of dynamic wrinkles (for example, frown lines, bunny lines or crow’s feet). This treatment is considered safe for most patients, but is generally not advised for pregnant or breastfeeding patients or those with serious illnesses or neurological diseases.* The best way to determine whether BOTOX® Cosmetic is right for you is to attend a consultation with our experts at ICLS. We recognize that each individual is unique, and with that in mind, we tailor your treatment to your medical and aesthetic needs.

How Is BOTOX® Cosmetic Performed?

The BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment involves a series of strategic injections into specific facial muscles. This procedure is minimally invasive and well tolerated. Sessions typically take no longer than 15 minutes, and downtime is not usually necessary.

There are no known generalized side effects to BOTOX® Cosmetic, and serious complications are considered rare. The most common temporary side effect is bruising at the injection site. Some patients experience headaches post-injection, but this is rare and will typically resolve within 24-48 hours. 1% of patients experience eyelid drooping, which occurs when the BOTOX® Cosmetic moves into surrounding muscles due to manipulation of the treated area post-injection.

Following a BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment session, we advise you not to touch the areas injected for four hours to avoid the migration of the product to other areas. You should also refrain from laying down for four hours.

How Long Does BOTOX® Cosmetic Last?

BOTOX® Cosmetic effects vary from person to person, but usually last for approximately three to four months. As the effects gradually wear off, muscle activity in the treated area returns, and wrinkles and fine lines progressively reappear. Our nurse injectors can help you determine a timeline for your BOTOX® Cosmetic sessions to help you enjoy the benefits of the treatment for as long as possible.

How Much Does BOTOX® Cosmetic Cost?

At ICLS, we truly believe BOTOX® Cosmetic and other neuromodulators should not be thought of as a commodity, but should be purchased based on the skill of the injector and the results that can be achieved.

Pricing for BOTOX® Cosmetic is $12 per unit. The final price is contingent upon your desired outcome as well as nurse recommendations. For your convenience, we accept all major forms of payment, and we always welcome our patients to ask questions about financing their care. You’re also welcome to ask our team to determine whether you qualify for installment plans through iFinance or Beautifi.

Aftercare and Recovery

Patients should not touch the areas injected for the rest of the day to avoid the migration of the product to other areas. You should also avoid laying down for the remainder of the day so you do not fall asleep and put unwanted pressure on your face. You may get a slight headache after being treated with BOTOX® Cosmetic, which is completely normal. Tylenol can be used in order to alleviate any discomfort.
