Acne is astoundingly common; it’s been reported that up to 80% have experienced acne at some point in their lifetime. Despite its reputation as a commonplace, everyday nuisance, acne can cause a great deal of embarrassment and pain for whoever has it. Acne can be irritating, unsightly, or sometimes even painful—and for unlucky few, there seems to be no solution in sight.
Thankfully, the development of blue light therapy has created one of the safest, most comfortable treatments for mild to moderate acne. The Blu–U® Light for acne is non-invasive, pain-free, and safe. The Blu–U® Light is effective on all skin types (I-IV) and works for areas like the face, neck, chest, and back. After a series of Blu–U® Light treatments, the patient should have noticeably clearer skin.

The Blu–U® Light uses blue light therapy to reduce acne gently and non-invasively with long-term results. The Blu–U® Light is not a laser, rather, it’s a type of photodynamic light treatment that uses a narrow band of light to target the bacteria that’s responsible for causing breakouts, Propionibacterium Acnes. The Blu–U® Light can eliminate them by targeting them with the treatment’s blue light.
BLUE LIGHT THERAPY PROCEDURE
The procedure for the Blu–U® Light is incredibly simple; the patient will be sitting up in comfortable chair while light is delivered from a light source placed near their face. The treatment time is 20 minutes, and in the meantime, the patient can relax and listen to some music. The light will be a visible, cool, blue light. Depending on your condition, you and ICLS will develop a treatment regimen for your blue light therapy.
