Typically referred to as angiomas, spider nevus or cherry hemangiomas, these benign lesions are very common, especially as we age and after repeated exposure to the sun. They are typically removed for cosmetic reasons and may be prevalent on the arms, chest and/or breasts. Angiomas are made up of a cluster of capillaries on the surface of the skin and may range in colour from bright red to purple. Treatment is typically very simple and involves the use of Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL), excision or cautery.
