The SAPNA Family Foundation: Turning Compassion into Action

The SAPNA Family Foundation represents more than just a philanthropic endeavour. It is a “dream” brought to life. Derived from the Hindi word for dream and a combination of Dr. Khanna’s and Dr. Sapra’s names, the foundation serves as a vehicle for their shared commitment to a better world. Their giving is thoughtfully distributed across several pillars of society, ensuring that their impact is felt deeply both at home and abroad.

Within the Greater Toronto Area, the foundation provides vital support to the Oakville Hospital Foundation, SickKids, and Easter Seals, ensuring that children and families have access to world-class care. This dedication to health extends into specialized advocacy and support through the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, Wellspring Cancer Support, and MADD.

Believing that health is a fundamental human right, Dr. Khanna and her family also look beyond borders. The SAPNA Family Foundation proudly supports global and social justice initiatives, including Doctors Without Borders, Health for Humanity, and Human Rights Watch.

Their commitment to equity and dignity is further reflected in their support for the Orange Shirt Society, LEAF Toronto, and the Canadian Centre for Refugee and Immigrant Health Care, creating a legacy of care that transcends the clinical setting.

With privilege comes responsibility. For our family, wherever we choose to donate, it’s about supporting the dream for things to be better.
