Temporary cosmetic fillers are injectables used to correct minor indentations caused by fine lines, wrinkles or scarring and volume loss. These products are also used to augment and help improve imperfections. Cosmetic dermal fillers work by “filling” or “plumping” the wrinkles or deep depressions known as “static wrinkles.” Static wrinkles are the lines that have formed in the skin on a more permanent basis. Many patients are seeking fuller volume in the lips and cheek area, but dermal fillers can be used almost anywhere.
Some cosmetic fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that is found within the body. This eliminates any need for allergy testing and ensures its safety and effectiveness. At ICLS we also rely on Sculptra and PRP to restore and/or correct the signs of facial fat or volume loss. Most injectable cosmetic fillers typically last up to six months, whereas Sculptra, since it’s not a traditional filler, lasts much longer. Fat transfer takes fat from areas such as thighs, buttocks and abdomen, and is injects it into areas lacking volume such as breast, buttocks and face. This highly-customized procedure produces long-lasting, natural results.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long will my facial fillers last?
The amount of time you’ll enjoy your results depends on how quickly your body processes the filler and which products we decide to use. Hyaluronic acid fillers typically last for 3-6 months. Radiesse lasts longer. With this treatment, patients can enjoy results for up to two years.
How is Sculptra different from other facial fillers?
Unlike hyaluronic facial fillers, the main ingredient in Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). It’s classified as a collagen stimulator helping to gradually restore fullness to facial wrinkles and folds. Sculptra can take months to take full effect, but patients experience long-lasting, natural-looking results that can last up to two years.
How much does it cost to get fillers in your face?
Injectable filler pricing begins $600 per treatment. Sculptra injections begin at $950. Fat transfer pricing is highly personalized to each patient’s needs and considers accompanying procedures, such as when fat transfer is done during a tummy tuck. Contact ICLS for more information.
Aftercare and Recovery
Patients can help to reduce the possibility/amount of swelling by using ice packs on the areas that were treated. Also, if you have a history of cold sores, Valtrex may be prescribed for you to reduce the risk of an outbreak.
In the event of a bruise or redness, your nurse can apply an anti-microbial make-up to limit the appearance of post treatment symptoms, and topical arnica applied to the treatment area can sometimes shorten the duration of any bruising.
