Shaving and Plucking and Ingrowns Oh My!

In the summer time, we are forced to pay more attention to the amount of time we expend staying hair free. To most it seems like an uphill battle…a mountain of hair to never be conquered! Traditional hair removal techniques like shaving, plucking and waxing only last so long, and then we’re right back at it again.

Here at ICLS we utilize both the NEW Lightsheer™ Duet and the Coolglide™ for laser hair removal, enabling us to not only treat patients with light skin tones, but also those with dark skin tones. In the past, patients with darker skin were limited to traditional methods of hair removal, because treatment would be considered too risky. However, with the use of the Coolglide™ laser, patients with dark skin tones can be safely and effectively treated. The fall is a great time to get started or continue with laser hair removal treatment as people are typically out of the sun. By the time next Spring rolls around, you’ll be dying to bare those legs again!

Shaving and Plucking and Ingrowns Oh My!

Another related concern is people who are plagued by ingrown hairs! As if irritating hair growth just isn’t enough? For many people, they are forced to go weeks without shaving to avoid the inevitable bumps and lumps. Laser hair removal is a great option for this as well. By destroying the actual hair follicle deep within the pore, it helps to eliminate the chance of ingrowns. In conjunction with laser hair, we also love using Tend Skin. It’s a topical solution that works unbelievably well to get rid of those nasty little suckers. The clear solution can be applied to the face or body after shaving or waxing and will immediately combat redness, ingrown hairs and razor bumps.
