First Comes Love, Then Comes Marriage, Then Comes

Roxanne our wonderful Plastics Manager

…a baby in Roxanne’s belly! Roxanne our wonderful Plastics Manager recently revealed that she has a bun in the oven. Well not that recently because she is now 6 months along! When we all found out we literally jumped for joy…literally! Roxanne is already ICLS’ unofficial office mum who we come to for advice and a shoulder to lean on; so we know that she will be the most loving mummy. And the fact that her loving, generous and caring nature is all going to be channeled towards a little boy or girl is tremendous. Of course it wasn’t all rainbows and sunshine for Roxanne. Being pregnant didn’t just mean making sure that she was taking the right vitamins, or signed up for the right prenatal classes. Dr. Sapra honed in on the fact that she should be starting on a new skincare regime while she is pregnant.

Prior to her pregnancy, Roxanne’s regular use products contain retinol. Retinol is a vitamin A derivative that unclogs pores, boosts collagen to reduce fine lines and speeds cell turnover to even out discoloration and smooth the skin—sometimes in as little as four weeks. All desirable characteristics if I do say so myself. Unfortunately, Retinol should be avoided for expectant mothers. Therefore, with the goal of maintaining a bright, clear and even complexion, Roxanne has changed her routine to include the following steps:

Firstly, she makes sure to wash with SwissTEC’s Optimal Cleanser every morning and evening. The Optimal cleanser is specially designed to calm and moisturize the skin while simultaneously removing dirt and impurities. The cleanser also contains Aloe Vera, Provitamin B5 and Aquarich, and as though this wasn’t enough, it is also paraben-free, which is great for her bump. In addition to the cleanser, Roxanne bought a brand new Clarisonic PRO after hearing from Rachel just how much it has improved the condition of her skin (peer pressure works a little differently here at ICLS). The Clarisonic brush uses sonic technology, a patented micro-massage motion, to improve the skin’s natural elasticity, gently remove the impurities traditional methods leave behind and leaves the skin noticeably softer and smoother. The brush is also gentle enough to use two times a day and better prepares the skin for the absorption of creams, serums and moisturizers. Roxanne noticed that combining the Clarisonic brush with the face wash made such a huge difference. In her words: “I feel so refreshed afterwards and my skin feels silky smooth.”

Secondly, Roxanne applies the SkinCeuticals Serum 10 to her skin in the morning. SkinCeuticals Serum 10 is a revolutionary anti-aging antioxidant. It contains potent levels of antioxidants including Vitamin C and Ferulic Acid. Using a potent antioxidant benefits the overall health of the skin, while evening skin tone and giving the skin a healthy, glowing appearance. Roxanne noticed that her skin had started to look dull with pregnancy, but after 3-4 days of using the Serum 10 she really started to notice a glow as well as a smoother texture. Lastly, Roxanne introduced SkinCeuticals tinted Sheer Physical UV Defense SPF 50. With the summer coming up (we hope!) Roxanne wanted to increase her SPF. With a matte texture, there is no tackiness or stickiness. It is also paraben and chemical-Free, making it the icing on her care regimen cake.
