Smoothbeam
For patients who have acne, oiliness and/or enlarged pores, Smoothbeam laser is an excellent technology to address all of these concerns. Smoothbeam can drastically reduce acne, while significantly improving the overall look of the skin. The laser hand piece targets the sebaceous glands, which are responsible for the production of sebum or oil, which causes oily skin, pores and acne. These are also the same glands that become clogged and form blackheads, pustules, and cysts.
Smoothbeam heats up the follicle, which causes changes within the gland. The treatment will slow down the production of sebum, thus reducing the amount of plugs which clog the pores. A topical numbing cream is normally applied 1 hour prior to treatment. The laser then passes over all of the areas of concern which may include the full face, Tzone, neck, chest and/or back. Patients will require a series of treatments ranging from 3–5. These appointments are booked approximately 4–6 weeks apart.
