Botox® Cosmetic

Botox® is a purified toxin that paralyses all muscles exposed to it. By injecting very small amounts into a specific facial muscle only the targeted impulse of that muscle will be blocked causing local relaxation and weakness. It is in turn used for treating “frown lines” which are the result of the over activity of corrugated muscles (who’s only purpose is to draw the eyebrows together to express emotion). Botox® is also used to treat squint lines, crows feet, brow lines, and to paralyse sweat glands to alleviate excessive sweating. Treatments take 3 to 7 days to take effect but will last 3 to 4 months.

Juvederm™

Juvederm™ is a filler product that is used to restore a smoother, more youthful look to the skin. Juvederm™ reduces the signs of aging and skin imperfections by smoothing superficial lines and wrinkles such as crows feet, forehead wrinkles, frown lines and deep folds. It can also be injected into the cheek to restore or create volume, as well as being used to add volume to the lips and contours of the face. Juvederm™ is made up of hyaluronic acid in a gel that is found naturally in the body and binds cells or allows them to hold water and is responsible for tissue hydration. Over time the acid will slowly be absorbed and disappear gradually with age. A single treatment can last 6 to 9 months.

Restylane®

This product is used to temporarily correct facial lines and wrinkles as well as plumping lips. Restylane® also contains hyaluronic acid and is a filler that works with the body to create volume wherever it is injected. Restylane® is mainly used to fill the tiny feather lines around the mouth and lips, for augmenting lips or filling shallow wrinkles. Treatment takes approximately 30 minutes with immediate results lasting 4 to 6 months.

Sculptra™

Sculptra™ has two main, clinically proven uses:

• It is injected into the skin to restore and/or correct the signs of facial fat loss or volume.
• It is used on patients who suffer from acne scarring.

Sculptra™ is a biocompatible/biodegradable acid material that is harmlessly broken down in the body. The acid that comprises Sculptra™ has been used in dissolvable stitches, soft tissue implants and other types of implants. Uniquely, Sculptra™ is not like traditional “fillers” that “plump” the skin as it instead causes the bodies own collagen to build up around the molecule causing the skin to increase in thickness.

Sculptra ™ involves 3 to 4 treatments, which take 30 to 60 minutes to complete, and should be booked 6 to 8 weeks apart to give time for collagen to take form. The effect will last 3 to 5 years
