This Is How We Roll

At ICLS we are always trying to find leading edge products and devices to improve the skincare of our patients. Which is why we are rolling out the latest in at-home medical devices: Microneedling. This device helps enhance the use of active serums and growth factors that assists in the repair of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring and damage due to UV exposure.

Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), is a well-documented treatment option for skin rejuvenation. It is an aesthetic technique that has been used for decades prior to resurfacing lasers and has gained a surge in popularity, particularly for ethnic skin. As with lasers, this treatment punctures the skin to create ‘micro-channels’ of controlled ‘injury’.  This then triggers the body to fill the ‘injury’ with collagen and elastin, improving skin texture, firmness and hydration.

This simple hand-held instrument, also popularly referred to as a dermaroller consists of a cylinder studded with sterile, fine, stainless steel needles of 0.2mm in length and is considered to be one of the safest skin treatment procedures. This is how we roll!
