We asked our very own Heather to write about her first experience with laser hair removal (she was very nervous to say the least.) So this is the nitty gritty of how her treatment went:
I’ve had the pleasure of working at ICLS for just over a year. I have learned a great number of things. I however have not been one who can tolerate the pain we put ourselves through for beauty. For that reason, I have been very hesitant to have certain treatments done.
Working at the front desk I have been receiving a great number of calls asking questions about laser hair removal. Never having had it done, I’ve had to answer these questions without firsthand experience. I think everyone hears about how painful laser hair removal is, right? Guess what… they are wrong!
I decided it was time to bite the bullet, and suck it up. While the nurses know I continued to come up with every excuse in the book to avoid going in; ladies and gentlemen I can FINALLY speak from experience. I swear; the procedure was so quick and tolerable.
I decided to have my under arms done as it is the smallest area possible and I figured it would be over the quickest. Luckily they didn’t tell me until the end that comparably this tends to be the most sensitive area. That was a little over 3 weeks ago and I’ve only shaved once.
I still have more treatments to ensure that the hair goes away longer-term, but with only a couple quick zaps I’m done and back to work. I didn’t even think about this, but with the hair going away, I no longer have that underarm five o’clock shadow. So this is the story of how I went from the world’s biggest wimp to the world’s biggest fan of laser hair removal!
