On September 26th 2014, the 2nd annual Diwali Gala Dinner was hosted at the Burlington Convention Centre in support of the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Khanna was honoured to co-chair this wonderful event alongside her OTMH family. I mean how could she not be? Dr. Khanna, Dr. Sapra and their entire family were there to support both the growth of OTMH and the local Indian community. All funds raised by the event were donated to the brand NEW Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and what better way, than to celebrate in the sparkling Festival of Lights with such a profound group of local contributors!
Diwali is traditionally a celebration of thanks and acknowledgement of hope for the future. It is a time to honour your family, friends and loved ones through-out your community.
Five hundred guests were treated to live entertainment over the course of the evening including a performance by Oakville native and Juno Award-winner, Anjulie. Mouth-watering Indian cuisine was served by the Host Restaurant and a number of activities took place such as silent and live auctions, casino, raffles and roulette games. The highlight of the evening of course was “Cause within a Cause” where donations were made for fetal monitors to assess the delivery and health of neonatal infants.
With the help of everyone involved $135,000.00 was successfully raised for the new Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and the bar has definitely been set for upcoming Gala events!
